So here's a summary of what I've done in the short weekend there (27th February to 28th February, 2016). It was really just to get out of the city for a while and relax.
Drove from KL at 10am, arrived at half-past 12 noon. Checked-in at Hatten Hotel, Melaka. I paid for MYR 330 for one night, worth it. I booked it via Booking.com

After checking in, had late lunch at Tim Ho Wan - restaurant in the hotel/ mall grounds. It's a famous restaurant from Hong Kong. Had dim sum, pork buns, shrimp with vermicelli.
I also went for a bit of shopping at F.O.S., they had a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion. :-)
After that, walked back to the hotel and had a nap. It's very hot in Melaka so I did not want to go out and be under the scorching sun. After the nap, woke up and had a swim at the pool. Tried the steam & sauna after.
In the evening, drove to Ikan Bakar Parameswara. This is a very famous place for locals. You queue to choose fresh seafood that you want to eat: stingray, fish, crabs, clams, mussels, prawns, lobster, squid..name it! After choosing the fresh seafood, you have to instruct the staff on how you want your seafood to be prepared: with gravy, with chilli (sambal), buttered, fried, grilled, etc..
Then you wait for the food at your table while checking out the sunset view at the Straits of Mallaca.
After the dinner, a quick visit at the Alto Skybar of Hatten Hotel was a must. Open bar - windy night, jazz singers, nothing could have been more relaxing.
That was how the night ended.
The following day was breakfast at 9am. Nap time until 12 noon (I know I had a lot of naps, I told you, it was a relaxing weekend!).
After checking out from the hotel, I had a one-hour massage at Thai Wadee at Jalan Melaka.
The massage was followed by a visit at the famous Jonker 88 where I had lunch and the best cendol in Melaka.
Last stop was Hard Rock Cafe.
