I
travelled to Fraser’s Hill recently. Fraser's Hill is a highland resort
destination nestled among the mountains of Pahang, located about two hours away
from Kuala Lumpur.
It
is a short weekend get-away. Most of the hotels are fully booked at this time
because of the Deepavali holiday. I have seen a lot of bikers that went up hill
and their plate numbers are Thai. I arrived on a Saturday morning and left on a Sunday afternoon.
There
are only a few places to stay here. Last year, I stayed at Fraser’s Silverpark
Resort which is high on top of the hill but I had bad dreams and nightmares
staying there and there have been reviews of ghosts being seen and felt at that
place so I vowed never to come back to that hotel. This time, I stayed at TM
Resort Fraser’s Hills and when I arrived there, it was a “two-storey house with
lots of rooms”. It is owned by TM – telecommunications company. It looks like a
private kind of place. It has this cozy and home-y kind of feeling. There is a
family that runs this place; they live at a house near the building. There was
a warm welcome upon arrival. But the gate closes at 11pm. There is nothing much
to do for night life anyway so that’s fine.

View from the The Smoke House Hotel and Restaurant.
The Smoke House is a beautiful historical building with a relaxing, homely feel, it is a hotel and it also has an English restaurant and bar with real fireplace to keep warm during those cold evenings.

It was so cold!
A nice walk along these pines and trees with the cold breeze, is simply amazing.
View from the hotel.. it's a bit creepy during the night!
